Who can take the sleep apnea test?

Anyone over the age of 18 can take our test. Although our program is designed for commercial drivers taking their DOT Medical Exam, it actually works for anyone.

  • If you are a commercial driver, and have been told you need a sleep apnea test, our test will work for you.
  • If you are not a commercial driver, but have been told by your doctor that you should get tested, our test will work for you.
  • If you think you might have sleep apnea, and want to know for sure, our test will work for you.
  • If you think your spouse has sleep apnea, and want them tested, our test will work for you.
  • If you want to know if you have sleep apnea, and want the results to remain private, our test will work for you.

What does AllTrans Medical provide for me?

AllTrans Medical provides a turn-key sleep apnea testing, diagnosis, and treatment program. If you are a commercial driver trying to obtain or renew your CDL and have been told you need a sleep test, we will provide the testing, diagnosis, and documentation you need.

I am a Truck Driver.  Am I Required to Take a Sleep Apnea Test?

During the DOT Physical exam needed to obtain or renew your CDL, the examining doctor may decide that you match the physical conditions leading to sleep apnea.  They may require you to have a sleep apnea test before signing off on your medical clearance.

Do I need this for my CDL renewal?

You may need to be tested for your medical clearance, which is one component of renewing your CDL. During you DOT Physical, the examing physician will let you know if you need to have a sleep apnea test.

Is your program accepted by the DOT physicians in my state?

Yes.  Our program is accepted in all 50 states. If your results are not accepted, we will refund your testing fee.

Will my DOT physician accept your test results?

Yes.  We use an industry standard testing device, accepted by the American Medical Association.  If for some reason they don’t accept our test results, we will refund your testing fee.

What if I have questions?

CALL US!  1-877-357-3212.  We are in the office Monday- Friday 8:30am-5:00pm CST.   Once you complete your payment and questionnaire, most of our communication will be over the phone from that point forward.  We can answer any questions you have about testing, sleep apnea, insurance, or the DOT paperwork, and look forward to talking with you.  We speak English and Spanish.

Why do I need to take a sleep apnea test?

During the medical exam needed to obtain or renew your CDL, your doctor may decide that you match the physical conditions leading to sleep apnea.  They may require you to have a sleep apnea test before signing off on your medical clearance.  The test will not stop you from driving, even if it shows you have sleep apnea.

Can I still drive if I have sleep apnea?

YES!  If your test shows you have sleep apnea, you will need to use a treatment device called CPAP at night to treat your sleep apnea.  The CPAP records your use, which can be submitted to your DOT physician to show you are compliant with treatment instructions.  As long as you are properly using your CPAP, your DOT doctor can clear you for your medical certificate.

What if the test shows I do NOT have sleep apnea?

If your test shows you do NOT have sleep apnea, we will provide a report with the results and diagnosis to your DOT physician, and they can clear you for your DOT Medica certification.

What if the test shows I DO have sleep apnea?

If you test positive for sleep apnea, you will need to get it under control before your doctor will sign off on your DOT medical certificate.  As part of our program, we can provide you with the treatment device (CPAP), and monitor your progress.  Once the device is working properly, we will provide a report proving that you are under treatment, and your doctor can clear you for your DOT medical certification.

Is treatment an additional charge above the $349 for the test?

Yes.  If you have sleep apnea, you will need to purchase the treatment device (CPAP) and monitoring in addition to the test.  As part of our program, we work with medical equipment suppliers to provide much lower prices than you will find using traditional solutions like your local sleep clinic.

How much is the treatment device (CPAP)?

The total treatment price depends on the device, mask, accessories, and supplies you need or choose.  Treatment with CPAP is sometimes covered by health insurance.  We will process your insurance claims for you, or assist you with the processing.  If you would like help determining if your policy will cover CPAP, please call us to discuss at 1-877-357-3212.

Can I use my health insurance to pay for testing or treatment?

It depends on your policy.  Call us, and we can determine which services your insurance will cover.  1-877-357-3212

How long does it take to get tested and cleared?

Using our regular $349 testing solution takes about 2 weeks.  However, if you have waited until the last minute and are in a rush, we can turn the testing and results around in 5 business days for an additional $200 rush service fee, which includes overnight shipping both ways.

Can the test show problems other than sleep apnea?

Yes and no.  The test may identify symptoms of problems other than obstructive sleep apnea.  If that happens, we will recommend that you spend the night in a sleep clinic for more in depth testing.  We work with a network of sleep clinics, and can arrange for you to be tested in your local area, for a discounted cash price.

Who will see the results of my sleep test?

Whoever you choose.  All of your information is protected under the HIPAA privacy guidelines, and you can decide who gets to see it.  When you are completing our paperwork, you will be asked to sign an authorization to share your test results with your DOT physician and the CPAP supplier to make our program smoother, but this is not required.  If you would like us to share the results with your employer, you may add them to the paperwork.  In the event that there is a dispute over payment or services, we will show evidence of the services we provided to your credit card company in an effort to settle the dispute.

Is your solution only for truck drivers?

NO!  Our test works on anyone.  But, we are especially adept at testing and treatment for individuals with a commercial drivers license, whether you drive a truck, bus, or cab, we’ve got you covered.
